Fix for some Monero miners

Post by Steve Sokolowski » Wed Oct 31, 2018 4:29 pm

Vance successfully implemented and tested a fix for a bug that causes some Monero miners to disconnect. These miners expect a different return value when an error occurs, and they crash.

We don't want to release this now because Vance is headed to Salem and we don't want any potential issues coming up during trick or treat time. Chris will put this fix out in about six hours.

I just deployed Vance's changes and restarted the mining server. Let us know how they work.

What was the response the pool was sending back to the miner causing it to disconnect like that?

From what Steve told me, it was a large amount of text that caused the client to get overloaded when parsing it.

Its working better now with XMR-Stak no disconnects now.

But am getting rejected shares and its coming up as "Miner is using an incorrect algorithm."

Im getting proper earnings tho..so obviously its not the wrong algo. Im on port 3341

same here..... one moment accepted shares all the way, then rejected shares entails

Average Mining Efficiency is an amazing 30% :o
