Release tonight

Post by Steve Sokolowski » Fri Apr 17, 2015 8:35 am

Hi,

We believe we have gotten the performance fixed and there will be a major release tonight, sometime between 6:00pm and 8:00pm Eastern. Actually issuing the release should only require a two-minute restart, but it's possible that there will be bugs that could take longer to resolve.

Once the release is issued, you should see a significant improvement in profitability due to work restarts being taken into account, and due to the huge number of bugs that have been resolved.

Thanks,

-Steve

We attempted a release tonight around 7PM EDT, but we discovered a bug that had not come up in our testing and had to revert again. Low system performance, the problem that foiled the previous release, was completely resolved. The issue Steve found now relates to not reassigning miners properly when a new block comes in; Steve can explain more in the morning when he wakes up since he is more familiar with the issue. We hope to have a release with a fix tomorrow afternoon, after which (we hope) there will be no more issues.
