SHA-256 mining issues

Post by Steve Sokolowski » Mon Mar 19, 2018 5:01 pm

There are currently some issues with SHA-256 mining caused by an invalid address we are trying to mine one of the coins to.

The only way to determine the address without restarting the server is to manually go through every coin and examine it. There are about 100 coins, so if we can do one per minute, this should take a few hours. Now that we know the cause, it shouldn't take long to get SHA-256 mining running smoothly.

The reason SHA-256 mining worked smoothly some of the time is because no miners were being assigned to the coin with the invalid address. I suspect that this new CashAddr format is responsible, so I wouldn't be surprised if Bitcoin Cash is the cause.

I love the update you give Steve and all the hard work Chris does as well. My S9s are currently staying attached because of this. Keep up the good work.

Yikes. Good luck. eurocoin maybe your problem, it will find a block, then always becomes lost. If there is anyway to assist in troubleshooting, certainly happy to help...

I think that we found the issue - it was with Bitcoin Cash. Please post whether the connectivity issue is resolved now. If it is resolved, then I'll spend time on figuring out how to deal with the CashAddr format.

Ok I finally got it to work. Had to remove the http://. Usually that doesn't affect anything.

Never include http. That tells the device that the connection is webbrowser based
