System offline

Post by Steve Sokolowski » Wed Nov 22, 2017 6:02 pm

The system is currently offline. These forums will be going offline for a shorter period soon. Chris expects the maintenance to take 4-6 hours.

See you then!

Phase one of the upgrades is finished. Chris installed new processors and double the memory in the database server, and moved it to the rack. He also changed the mining server's case and placed it in the rack, then got the system back online in this half-moved state and went to eat.

In about an hour, he'll begin with phase two, where he's going to move three of the coin servers and mount them on the rack and connect them to the new uninterruptable power supply.

We're aware that there are a large number of support tickets backing up. We apologize for the issue and will be working on them as soon as the hardware upgrades are complete.

This work has been completed. All that remains is disposing of the trash and cleaning up the makeshift platform that was present before, which will not impact the site.

Thanks for your understanding during this downtime! We now have 40 additional cores and 64GB additional memory for the parallel mining servers and SHA-256 daemons. Chris will be returning to working on support tickets later tonight.
