Im guessing the elec calculation is still borked?

I updated my miners to include p= & w= in password field ie:
p=0.12 w=800
and my daily calculations showed 29cents consumption .... its still largely inaccurate.

w=watts and you want to measure kilowatts. w=8000, not 800. you must covert watts to kilowatts. I read this on a separate forum post. See if that helps you out. im about to apply the power and wattage options to our password field later tonight.

w=7500 p=0.125

Thank you! I never got the memo on how to set up power usage.. I just changed mine like you said..

I apologize. I should also have said that the documentation was changed to provide examples in the "password arguments" section.

So just to confirm, this is the correct setting for controlling the electrical cost, Steve? I'll check out the password arguments section for any updates. Thank you!

This makes absolutely no sense. If you convert 800 watts to kilowatts, thats .8kw ... not 8000kw

so ... no this doesnt help. If it indeed is supposed to be 8000 on a 800w unit then the math behind the calculation is completely messed up and it should be fixed by pool ops.

This is taken directly from the help on pool site:
"w: sets the power this miner consumes, in watts. When both this argument and the "p=" argument are provided, electricity usage charts are tracked. This value must be a number and must be greater than zero. A miner that consumes 800 watts during normal hashing should use a value of "w=800." This value represents the electricity usage of this miner only; if there are other miners connected to the account in other sessions, then they must declare separate "w=" arguments or not be counted in electricty usage calculations."

My point is steve, the example provided in help shows w=800 where a miner consumes 800watts during normal hashing operations.

With my miner w= argument sent on my miners and my p= set correctly. Im showing like 30 cents / day in elec usage on a total of 2200w 24/7 ... lol something is messed up somewhere.

I think there's something wrong with the math here that I'll investigate soon.

Can someone figure out how much they think they actually spent on electricity and compare it to the numbers they are getting from the database so we can see what the figure is off by?

Yeah, i dont use it. but the math above looked a little screwy to me too.
Based on the docs and the way i would do it, should be:

First of all, using 'p' as the variable for price may confuse some as it is conventionally used for Power(watts).

Anyway,
(watts * price in dollars / 1000) * hours connected = electrical cost for day in dollars

eg, my L3+ runs at 794 watts, stays connected consistently, and i pay 10.6 cents per kwh:

794 * .106 * 24 /1000 = $2.02/day
and that jives with my bill
hope this helps
