Welcome to the mining rig and connectivity support forum!

This forum is for discussing issues with mining rigs and connectivity issues with experienced PROHASHING miners. This is a great place to ask questions about connecting specific hardware to PROHASHING.

Remember, PROHASHING employees do not closely monitor the forums like we do the official support channels, so this forum's purpose is to connect you with other PROHASHING miners who have experience with similar hardware/issues. If you have connectivity issues you are unable to resolve here on the forum, please submit a ticket through the official support channels.

naming miners

Post by Doug11 » Thu Jun 20, 2019 2:18 pm

! have 7 antminers. 2 L3+ and 5 L3++ All are up and running in 3 different locations except for 1. The setup tutorial ! found said to put a name on each. ! did that, but all ! get is a random string of characters on Prohashing and those seem to change fairly often. How do ! change the names on each so ! can have a clue which is not running or hashing without driving across town?

Also, ! found one yesterday that had the "fault" light on. ! shut it off and restarted it. What causes that error?

You should use the "n=" password argument to set a unique name for each miner. That will allow you to determine which miner is causing the problem if one of the miners has an issue. If you use the same "n=" worker name for two or more miners, then they will have red borders around their boxes in "live worker status" and they will all have the random names that you're seeing.

In regards to the fault light, that's a hardware problem that's not related to Prohashing. The best place to figure out the answer to your question is to contact the manufacturer. With the miners I have, the fault light often indicates that one of the boards in the miner is failing, which means that the failing board needs to be bypassed and the hashrate of the miner will be lower. However, that's only my miners, and you'll have to talk to the manufacturer or read the instruction manual for your specific miner to figure out more about your specific problem.

Thanks for this piece of information. I also had the same issue. I'll try this out and see if it will work
