Need advice from Z9 ownwers / enthusiasts today please

Hi guys.

I have to pull the trigger today on buying a Onisilicon A9 machine today... or not.

Can I please ask you guys, and sorry if the questions have been repeated from a couple of days ago:

1. Do your Z9's work here on PH and are they mining ZEC?
2. Will an Onisilicon A9 work on here?
3. What sort of $$ gross are you making per 10k/sols?
4. What do you think about the % profitability up or down in the next 3 months of Z9 / A9 machines? Will they stay profitable?

Thanks a million guys.

J

I have the Z9 mini working on here and it works fine. Go to the "Charts" page to look at profitability. I suspect in a month the payout will be half what it is now because of all the extra hash power coming online. Prohash mines all the equihash coins to maximize returns.

Howdy
My Z9 mines here, and I think it is generally doing $14-15 a day. I have a 970 and 1070 cards pointed here to however. I am showing payouts in the 15.50-17 range usually cause the video cards are adding about 1kSol.
My z9 is OC to 650, so its generally in the 11.5-14k Sol range. My Z9 shows 13.17 KSol, so if you can sustain 50Ksol with the innosilicon then I suspect you can get 50-65 per day today.
I saw one on ebay for 2700, like the other poster, I think it can easily drop by half by the end of september, and probably gradually after that, so at that price you are looking at a minimum of 108 days ROI.
I ve thought long and hard about it too, unfortunately for me, I kept buying more equipment with coin rewards, so I now I have 18 L3s 4 S9s, 1 Siacoin miner and the Z9, but because of the drops in price, heat, and what not, I have only been running 8 L3s and the Z9, course I think most of us are suffering these problems. Sadly, the 300 watt Z9 is almost making more money than the 8 L3s which are running about 6400 watts an hour bleh, however nicely enough for me we re only paying 7-7.3 cents a KWhr here.

Hi Goof and mad4mining.

Thanks a lot for sharing your info.

I have never shelled out so much cash on 2x machines before and not knowing what the profitibility will be like when I get them in 2 months time is scary.

What about the hard fork on ZEC? Didn't it come through?

Are any other coins still threatening a hardfork?

Just to confirm all Equihash coins here on PH can be mined on this machine?

I am running 3x L3's 4x D4's and one S9 and am making $18 to $19 a day before electricity.

Bitcoin Gold hard forked and is no longer mineable. The ZCash hard fork was unrelated to the proof-of-work algorithm, so you have nothing to worry about there.

Coins that perform hard forks to avoid ASICs usually end up with 51% attacks, because anyone can rent GPU or CPU miners from cloud hosting companies to destroy a coin. I still don't understand why we see this trend of coins changing algorithms to avoid ASICs.

Hey Dooda
Having been mining now with Asics since last october, I can tell you this for sure, difficulty will go up. The problem for all of us now, and Steve touches on this in one of his latest posts, many need to sell coin to pay for elec, we re subsidizing, but man, my Dad gets mad about it sometimes haha.
The innosilicon miners are suggesting they will use 640 watts or something, so at least the elec is more manageable. With 50kSols, you could solo mine more often too, something to consider, my friend does PPLNS for EC and sometimes he goes days without making anything, ( I think its PPLNS ), but when it does hit, he sometimes made 5 EC a day, its a crapshoot. Innosilicon seems to still be offering these guys for 10k, I just dont think thats a good deal, you could buy 5 Z9 mini for 4k albeit at a 900 watt increase in elec consumption. I managed to get a Siaminer from bitmain in the second batch, and was making $10+ dollars a day, but look at it now ( the 4.3TH S11 miner did not help hah, nor will the obelisk miners when they get them out). I stopped running it anyway. O well, I think when this market returns, there will be an opportunity to unload the miners to ebay, or run them again and sell coins for elec when necessary.
Even considering all this, sometimes I think, hmm point that guy here, get paid out in some coins for long term growth ( 18-36 months) and forget about it. Right now I m trying to get a 100 bucks in what I think are potentially good long term coins for growth, its a ton of information to digest, and crap can happen that nobody can plan for, but I feel like they re lottery tickets in some sense. On top of that, I do think many cryptos are still looking for problems to solve, kind of like the laser when it was invented. Bitcoin can seriously curtail international fees and large purchases, but that kind of thing was never my problem, not having enough money for my family is haha. In any event, thats what I look for in coins now, they need to solve some problems, and this will facilitate adoption going forward. There may not yet be a coin that does this yet universally. I digress, good luck if you pull the trigger :)

Hey Goof and guys.

Thanks all for your input.

Ok so I ordered 2x A9 Zmasters, that will arrive in South Africa in about 2 month max. Paid $4464 each in total to get them to my door. Not sure whether thats a good price, but I met a guy who is helping me get it done and through customs quicker.

So now I continue plugging away with my 8 machines at about 6800watts, till they arrive.

These 2 new ones will hopefully do 5x more revenue at only 1300 watts... nearly the power of one S9, crazy...

I did some research and I believe a top end GPU does just under 500 sols. This means one of my machines will do the job of 100 Graphics cards, that's like the same work as 16 rigs.

Anyways, as said in earlier posts, the profitability will still come down, but hope it remains viable at the price I bought, when I get them.

On a side note, the Alt coins are getting hammered eh?? :)

Happy mining.

If by ALT coins you mean alternate to real currency then yes, all the ALT coins are getting hammered.

Once it costs more in electric than the profit the value of the coins you make have, it is no longer cost effective to continue to run.

Does anyone have optimal settings for the A9Zmaster to run on here? Getting them tomorrow, would appreciate any good working settings (like the e=off) thing.

Thanks in advance.
