L3+ hash rate going up and down

I just joined with my L3+ and am looking at my hash rate and I have gaps in the graph that drop to zero. My earnings seem okay per say though. Is that normal?

What is the share difficulty your miner is using? Is it very high? If so, it's possible that you simply might not see any shares during those periods, which is normal.

Thanks for your reply,
i didn't set a difficulty, but it was detected at around 528k. i had to bounce from prohashing because of the drops in hashrate. i had zero hashrate for about an hour at a time according to the graphs.
the only thing i put was the stratrum url, my username and a=scrypt for the algo.
