Connecting with ccminer and minerd

Post by AngryTaco » Wed Dec 13, 2017 4:24 pm

So I have a computer I built for mining, engineering, gaming etc and thought at night it would be good to leave it alone and mine and when at work.

I have my username set the same as the site, the address set to "prohashing.com" port @ 3333 on both miners.

When leaving password blank as instructed, both miners refuse to start. When I set the password to what my login is, they start but I get empty replies from the server.

I am a complete noob to mining. Hoping to get some help. Thank yoU!

I am trying to mine LTC

you can't mine scrypt here with a gpu anymore, you need an ASIC. the minimum static difficulty right now is 65536, and dynamic difficulty starts at 65536 but can go down to 16384 if shares are submitted, if no shares are submitted it stays at 65536. maybe some other pools with low enough share difficulty will still work for your gpu. you could try give-me-coins.com, they have dynamic difficulty that adjusts properly that goes down to 256. but scrypt is really inefficient for gpus so you might be better off mining a different algorithm for max profitability
