A few thoughts - Wednesday, September 24, 2014

Does PayPal's announcement signal the trend reversal? Looking at the charts, it seems that yesterday's PayPal announcement signals that a trend reversal has occurred. It's amazing how on most of the forums, the mood all of a sudden is so positive. PayPal's announcement is good news, to be sure, but...

Here's the current status of the project as of today: Chris continues to test the next release of the project. Two major issues were identified and resolved so far. Hopefully, he will fully validate the changes before Friday, so that we can issue a deployment on Saturday morning. We only want to per...

A few thoughts - Monday, September 22, 2014

Good afternoon! A few thoughts for lunch today: Capitulation hasn't occurred yet The capitulation that looked like it was in progress on Friday aborted itself before that final devastating crash that has always happened before the trend reversal. I said on Friday that if we aren't sure that the capi...

Status as of Sunday, September 21

Here's today's progress: Chris is starting to have trouble with Cryptsy's daemons. Some coins are suddenly going into "maintenance" mode. Since we obtained new customers this weekend, Chris suspects that our customers are starting to be viewed as a 51% attack on some of the weaker coins li...

Re: Status as of Friday, September 19

Adding all the earnings would indeed be the best way to compute all-time earnings, but the problem with that is that the CPU usage to do that is immense for users who have been around for a while. It would make the site vulnerable to DoS attacks by just refreshing the page. To avoid that problem, we...

Re: payout issues?

This is something that's going to take more time to decide how to deal with. It's also not as clear as it should be that because Shadecoins wer...

Re: payout issues?

Hmmm, I didn't know that. I thought it was just related to Kristof.

I'll need to further investigate that and get back to you later in the evening.

Re: Status as of Friday, September 19

Chris looked into this. It turns out that the cause of the problem is that your account lost so much value in the bitcoin crash this morning that it exceeded the payout threshold yesterday but fell below it today. The payout script pays out accounts that exceed the threshold at the time of payout. T...

Re: Status as of Friday, September 19

I'll investigate this issue with payouts in about three hours. My guess is that last night, the number of bitcoin transactions went through the roof. Our transfer out of the exchange probably wasn't confirmed in two hours, because there were 911 kB blocks. When it came time to execute the payouts, t...
