Never had the key the knc controller came with it pre-installed when I got it on ebay.

For all I know they bought 1 copy and copied it 10 times and sold me a pirated copy, who knows.
KNC is still running fine on the base firmware, at this point not worth spending any money on it.

Yes, you need to set n=miner1 as the password to assign the miner a username of MINER1 instead of the random number its using to ID it now.

If you already have a unique ID for your miner set using n= password setting, then just reboot it once to fix it.

i bought a used KNC that came with gen Tarkin, and i loved it.
Lost the backup, couldnt find the updated version...end up just going back to kncminers original.

or adding a=x11 doesnt work on a dash miner?

As a test, point them all to mining rig rentals so they all show up as 1 rig, and then control where the rig setup goes.

Although, if I had GPU rigs I would be looking for some ether or some other asic-resistant coins to mine with those to maximize my profits.
