Re: How to troubleshoot connectivity issues?
if using windows, then in windows command prompt, tracert prohashing.com could be useful for checking for bad nodes, and ipconfig /flushdns could be useful for dns problems. you could also try to turn off a firewall if it's interfering or add a firewall rule on the router to allow all the ports used...

Re: No valid shares yet ... why
d=1024 is too low for scrypt static difficulty on this pool, the lowest static difficulty you can set is 8192. if you set it too low it goes to the default starting difficulty on dynamic, 65536. you can try refreshing the page if you know the miner is working properly.

Re: Generate bitcoin wallet seed from fingerprint?
i don't know about any fingerprint reader apps, and i don't own anything with a fingerprint reader. there are some hard wallets that are pretty much indestructible, not electronic but they're just like metal card things you can put the privkey/pass on with little number/letter tiles and keep it some...

Re: Should I use the same address when withdrawing from exchanges?
Depending on the blockchain, it's all publicly available in block explorers anyway. Usually people use separate addresses just to keep things organized so you can tell which transactions came from where if it doesn't show a from address. I don't think it really matters beyond that, it's personal pre...

Re: Antminer Z9 mini hashrate and discarded shares
Are you setting a static difficulty? I don't have a Z9, but I'd guess you would want to set the static difficulty as high as possible. If it's too low you might get more rejected shares.

Re: Trying to retrieve bitcoin wallet from an old harddrive.
The wallet.dat files are usually in c:\users\username\appdata\roaming\walletname\ If it's corrupt it might be irretrievable, and if it's encrypted and you don't remember the password it would be hard to unlock it without some idea of the password. I don't have any advice for data retrieval from a de...

Re: Local stratum-proxy
I've heard of a java stratum proxy called stratehm https://github.com/Stratehm/stratum-proxy/releases that might work, I tried to use it a little bit months ago and it kinda worked but I couldn't get it working properly, maybe I didn't get all the dependencies or just didn't configure it properly. T...

Re: Apparently mining but no valid shares yet
Mining scrypt algorithm on gpu could take a long time between shares at 65536 starting difficulty, you could set d=16384 for minimum static difficulty if you really want to mine scrypt and see shares more often. It's probably going to cost more in power to run the cards than you would make mining sc...
