Re: Status as of Monday, July 31, 2017

I still think pool operators ought to still strive to provide guidelines for mining etiquette in order to pave the way for a sustainable future Absolutely! We are witnessing a situation where miners with a large enough war-chest have taken over NH and now abusing it in ways that have destroyed both...

Re: Status as of Monday, July 31, 2017

100x times fast sounds great :) *fingers crossed* A possibility to handle those burst NH rentals (bots): Is is possible to delay wamp data by amount x? With this bots would be useless. And your normal NH renter does not get hurt Yes! I also like this idea and had suggested a variation of it seeing ...

Re: Status as of Saturday, July 29, 2017

just a quick scan of the new comments since i posted. all seems to be directed to spikes in hashrate. i propose a secondary measure. when hashrate/workers hit a maximum limit, disable API requests, enable again once falls below set threshold, bots will move on to other pools, NH becomes a non issue...

Re: Status as of Saturday, July 29, 2017

Because the following will happen: 1. Customers who want to sign up will receive an error message 2. Those customers will read about the site and want an account 3. Smart people will list accounts on eBay 4. Large miners will bid up the price of accounts until they are valuable 5. Small miners will...

Re: Status as of Saturday, July 29, 2017

After reading all this, it seems to me that people want stability and the only true way to achieve that is to raise fees. They would have to be double what they are now to make an appreciable difference. Is that what people would prefer? Although raising fees has been a very unpopular suggestion in...

Re: Status as of Saturday, July 29, 2017

i still believe we should be limiting workers past a specific number, that way accounts don't gain value by locking out registration and we have a round robin style of availability, this will allow miners to failback to another pool after the set number of workers are reached and will reconnect onc...

Re: Status as of Saturday, July 29, 2017

Is it possible that your experience differs from that of others because of a configuration issue? I just tend to be much more vocal and outspoken about it Steve. Please follow the suggestion from @frphm Join the Slack! I am actually amazed, confused, and quite irritated to discover that after all t...

Re: Status as of Saturday, July 29, 2017

I do appreciate the response Steve, though the essential message is unchanged - - Until you guys find a strategy to set max performance thresholds - with viable mitigation that kicks in and prevents the system from becoming overloaded . . nothing will improve for us miners, i.e. the system is not pr...

Re: Status as of Saturday, July 29, 2017

@ Steve - all good news EXCEPT for one point - - - everyone has been terrifically patient, but if the next capacity gains are immediately filled with additional hashpower it will be Unacceptable! You guys need to have a plan ready to limit excessive system use by a small handful of overly keen miner...
