Status as of Monday, July 3, 2017

Here's today's status: Chris tells me that he failed with last night's release and reverted it. I'm investigating what happened and he'll try again today. The issue may be a one-line change and a retry, since all the setup work is still good. Chris is working hard to stay up to date on the customer ...

Re: No ETH Payout

I apologize for this issue. We don't expect to be able to send ETH until this evening because of the DDoS UDP floods. ETH is the only coin that requires UDP to find peers. Since we didn't meet the one day promise, we'll see what we can do for affected customers depending on exchange rates whenever t...

Re: Status as of Friday, June 30, 2017

OR.. it could just have been a DDoS to try and run prohashing out of business as a competitor... the simplest explanation is most likely the correct one An even simpler explanation is that some Russian hacker decided to spend money to buy 21Gbps of attack traffic to cause trouble. If this is a comp...

Re: Rebooting website a few times

OK, I think I got the most important rules added. The number of requests is now down to 25% of what they were, so some performance improvement should be noticed.

Rebooting website a few times

I installed fail2ban on the webserver and am configuring rules to ban users who request the same pages many times per second. I found that was the cause of the slowdowns, but I apparently messed up and therefore rebooted the website to reset iptables. Mining is continuing as normal as I optimize the...

Three releases this weekend

There will be three releases this weekend. In the first release, which will occur today, the default payout coin will be changed to litecoin. New customers will be paid in 100% litecoins, and existing customers will be paid in litecoins if all of their preferred coins are in error. The payout thresh...
