Re: 2018 Taxes on Trades - Boooo

I think the USA is going to see an exodus of people involved in crypto over the tax laws. Same thing was said over TRUMP being elected. Of all the people who know..how many left for Canada? Well, the canadian immigration did crash due to too much traffic the day after election day..... :P You can a...

1099-MISC for and Automatic Withholding for non-us persons.

Based on the information on the "1099-MISC" section of the help, the decision to provide 1099 forms to us persons was based on the 2014 guidance from the IRS, specificly Q13 is referenced. The last sentence of Q13 and the entirety of Q14 cover payment of virtual currencies to contractors who are not...

Re: Congratulations to superminer dmdllc2017

So, this is why it is advisable to set your difficulty to the minimum level as opposed to allowing PH to select it for you?

Re: Massive Poloniex issues discovered

So, in light of the NiceHash hack, it would be understandable if sites were requiring human intervention prior to doing large payouts. I'm not saying that this is what is happening at Poloniex; however, it would make sense if it was. Its also a crappy way to run an exchange.

Re: Now free treshold Rise to $999???

Doesn't holding a large amount of Bitcoin due to high fees make PH a target like NH was? PH isn't a bank. Perhaps a way to Exchange people's locked up BTC for something that is moveable, like LTC. I know PH isn't an exchange either.

Re: Explanation of earnings from Dec 11-13

As to the tax forms, that's what we decided to do, and if you're unhappy about it, then you can fill out the form for the income you have made already and leave. I advise other customers who disagree with the simple step of receiving one piece of paper to also fill out the form in a few weeks and l...

Re: Explanation of earnings from Dec 11-13

I think that the simple answer is that "earning" on PH are based not on the coin, but on dollar value. The lower priced exchanges had shown litecoin cheaper than the higher priced exchanges. So, at a point in time if you were awarded 0.05, that would have been converted to LTC at the lower rate than...

LitecoinPool is also over 3x the hashing power than LitecoinPool, so LiteconPool has a greater chance of finding a block. Combined with them keeping the merge mined coins for their "profit", that is how they offer the -1% pool fee. Prohashing throws those merged mined coins into the pool's profits.

Re: First Website Improvements Released!

I don't want to drag on something that I think has been made far too big a deal of already, but I just want to say that the rationale for the forms is the following. Our business model is that we purchase hashrate from miners, use it to mine the most profitable coin, and then pay them a debt owed i...

Re: First Website Improvements Released!

Customers who locate mining equipment in the United States will have to receive a 1099 form. Customers who have no connection with the United States - who live elsewhere and who have their miners elsewhere - are not affected. Customers who live elsewhere AND who mine elsewhere? what about live else...
