Watch our new PPLNS video!

We're pleased to announce a new video covering some PPLNS concepts at Prohashing. While PPLNS mining doesn't provide for the profitability increase that Proswitching mining allows, some mining rigs do well by mining a single coin and receiving the merge-mining PPLNS bonuses. This video teaches about...

Steve for the Chia pool will it require the official pool protocol plots or will the OG plots be able to use in pooling, like HPool does ?
Chia mining is so complex that this investigation is still in the early stages, but Vance can answer this question when he has more information.

Re: xmrig - duplicate shares since yesterday

This issue has been resolved. Thanks for your feedback! The cause of the problem was that RandomX requires recalculation of different work for every person. In yesterday's release, we changed the calculation of work for other algorithms back to once per block using a different method, which reduced ...

Good afternoon! Now that we are hiring more people, we'll have manpower available to do more publicity-oriented stuff, like writing these posts like we did before 2020. I'm pleased to announce that we have hired a new web developer, Michael Steward, who will start on August 10. When he starts, he wi...

Re: Significant increase in scrypt profitability

I knew something was up but I couldn't figure it out. Thanks for taking care of that you guys are doing a great job. On a side note pplns with litecoin has been a great hybrid of fpps from merge and luck based from PPLNS. Wouldnt mind seeing more info on PPLNS such as current active hashrate and la...

Re: Merged Mining question

that doesn't answer the "why" though. Id rather earn the litecoin as the litecoin and the doge as doge. There isn't a particular reason why - it was just the first method of payouts that was implemented. Something had to be done first. If you'd like, I can add this suggestion to the featu...

What matters and what doesn't in the cryptocurrency markets

With the cryptocurrency market - and particularly bitcoin - about to reach an inflection point where prices will break up or down, I thought it worthwhile to discuss some of the issues that will, and will not, affect which direction the trend breaks. To understand how which factors are important, th...

Significant increase in scrypt profitability

Thanks to reports from several customers, we discovered a major flaw that unnecessarily lowered scrypt profitability. The reported profitability is accurate, but actual amounts earned by customers were often lower due to suboptimal shares. The cause of the problem is CPU-saving code that was added i...

Re: Chia Network (Pool Protocol available in few days)

Thanks for the update Steve. I've already started making pool plots, so should have several hundred TB done by the time you are ready to go live with Chia. I'm going to look into how difficult this is to implement over the weekend. Maybe Vance will be interested in doing it before the new developer...
