Resolved equihash mining problem

Today, Chris resolved an Equihash mining problem that had plagued the system for the past 24 hours. It turns out that mining to z-addresses in Equihash coins requires a different way of building transactions than does mining to t-addresses, which is the default. Chris released an update without know...

Release failed

We've been trying to get out a release to resolve some issues with ethash mining, but it failed again. This is the third failure in three days.

Chris expects to continue trying to get this release out later this afternoon, which may result in more restarts or reverts.

Chris restarting mining servers

Chris is going to restart the mining servers. The purpose of this restart is to change the way that Ethereum shares are processed, in an attempt to determine why luck seems to be poor for ETH blocks.

The restarts will only take mining offline for about 30 seconds.

Re: Solo Mining DGB - Suboptimal Shares

Thanks for this report. I determined the cause of the problem. Because no earnings are credited for any share that does not find a block while solo mining, it is normal that most shares result in no earnings. However, when we wrote the query to determine whether a share is suboptimal or not, we forg...

Increased scrypt payouts by 1%

Chris recently performed a test against litecoinpool.org and found that the payouts for the two pools using the same miner were about equal. Therefore, we changed how conservative our pricing is for scrypt, resulting in a profitability increase of 1% for miners. That increase is now effective. Enjoy...
