The price of XCH needs to go waaayyy up in order for it to really be lucrative. The ROI time makes it difficult to justify spending money on new equipment. In my case I already had some old HDD’s and an old spare SSD, so it only made sense to plot some plots and farm a few spare TB’s.

I keep seeing stuff about chia, there is 2 parts to chia, the active plotting phase, and the inactive farming phase. Plotting is the part that eats through SSDs due to the number of writes etc. Once you plot they just go on any old hardrive as what is done at that point is the farming, which is not intensive and doesn’t need a fast harddrive.
